Gennert, even in its early years, bought lenses from lens specialty
companies. Sometimes they sold them with the original maker's
engraving, but also bought blank lenses (or just the glass), and
engraved the barrel with Gennert (or installed them in barrels).
Since many makers manufactured single achromat-type lenses, it is not
known who made this one - but possibly Darlot.
