This device is rather complex for a drop shutter, and necessarily meticulously manufactured. It is marked "Pat. App'd For".
The catalog engravings (above) show two different configurations - one has a hard rubber facing that covers the working parts - the other does not have a cover and the parts are exposed. Therefore, I have made two variations: the Anthony Climax Shutter Variation 1 (Uncovered) and the Anthony Climax Shutter Variation 2 (Covered). Why they made two different versions, showed them as different engravings in the same catalogs and yet never distinguished them for purchase is anybody's guess.
