Photographic Apparatus Manufactured by The Blair Camera Company, Blair Camera Co. (Boston, MA), distributed by C.R. Selee, 56 Bromfield St., Boston, Mass., dated 1886, ~5x6¾", 40pp
This catalog contains the common relatively long-lived Blair models from this time, e.g., Improved Reversible Back, Champion Reversible Back, Blair Combination Camera, Lucidograph.
This catalog also has two models that are little known, due to their short tenure before being superseded: Blair's Perfect (or Perfection) Reversible Back Camera, and the Standard Reversible Back Camera (as opposed to being the Improved Reversible Back Camera. Due to the sparse nature of Blair catalogs during the era 1885-1887, an era that is extremely important in the development of view camera design, and one during which many models were first introduced, this catalog contains so far the only descriptions of these two models. That descriptions or engravings are now available has allowed examples of these two models to be identified, examples which were previously described as a guess and as an unknown.
