The cover of this volume is marked: "Volume X 1897-1898", whereas the title page indicates 1898 only. Also, there is a (rebound) Volume X that is 1897 only, which, in addition to the 1897 articles being different than the 1898 articles, has a larger number of ad pages.
Judging from the ad pages herein, the heyday of wood and brass view camera design are over, amateur photographers no longer buy the photographic annuals, and professional photographers are performing studio and darkroom work.
