The Premo line had been developed by the Rochester Optical Co. before their merger with other Rochester-based companies in 1899 to form the Rochester Optical & Camera Co. The line apparently continued as the Rochester Optical Branch, probably manufacturing in the same building as previous to the merger. They also had view cameras, but only the leather-covered Premo cameras appear here.
