Prior to 1903, The Scovill & Adams Co. published a monthly periodical, the Photographic Times, and a yearly annual, The American Annual of Photography and Photographic Times. Likewise, E. & H. T. Anthony & Co. published a monthly periodical, Anthony's Photographic Bulletin, and their yearly annual, The International Annual of Anthony's Photographic Bulletin. When the two companies merged, the monthly publication was called The Photographic Times-Bulletin, and the yearly almanac continued with this volume, their first combined annual. Even though it is not a wood & brass view camera, a photographic example of the Anthony & Scovill Leather-covered Compact Camera, advertised on ads page 16, is available.
