Wale Universal Lens & Mathein Shutter - c. 1887-c.1890's

Notes:  This very striking-looking brass shutter has been called The Wale Shutter, whereas George Wale apparently only made lenses (explaining why the title states that these are Wale Universal Lenses).  The shutter was patented by F.J. Mathein and assigned to The Scovill & Adams Co.
