Practical Instructions for Amateurs - How to
Make Photographs Franklin Putnam opened a "Photographic Emporium" at 481, 483 and 485 Canal Street, New York City. From there, he sold 4x5" and 5x8" Scovill Mfg. Co. Favorite View Cameras, purchased from Scovill and stamped "Marvel" and "F. Putnam New York". Usually those stamps are the only ones, but occasionally, the "Marvel" stamp is an over-stamp of the standard "Scovill Mfg. Co., NY" stamp that cameras purchased from Scovill come with. Note the chemical stains, mainly on pages 26-27 regarding chemical make-up of fixing baths.
